Testosterone
Testosterone is synthetically manufactured by Schering, Organon and Ciba, Europe’s biggest pharmaceutical laboratories. This steroid became the reference or the basis of all steroids in the market. It was artificially produced and made available in the market in year 1930. Testosterone is responsible to the development and formation of primary and secondary sex characteristics of males.
Testosterone is a powerful anabolic agent since it converts into androgen three times stronger than dihydrotestosterone, but it is not the most potent androgen. This drug also promotes the development of skeletal muscles which are essential to allow the body movement. It also stimulates the process of protein synthesis in the body. This process is important because it helps in the formation of new muscle tissues in the body, and enlarges the existing ones. Aside from this, testosterone also improves the regeneration process of the cells and tissues that allow the body heal faster after an injury. Since Testosterone is an androgen, it can cause acne on the face and on the upper part of the torso. Using this drug can also result to increased aggressiveness, sweating even during light activity, male pattern baldness and difficulty in sleeping. In addition, some bothersome effects on males can occur such as the enlargement of the prostate, low production of natural testosterone hormone, disorder in spermatogenesis, erectile dysfunction and low level of sexual drives. Women are not advised to use this steroid because it can cause some virilizing effects such as the thickening of the vocal chords resulting to hoarse and deep vocal tone, rapid growth of facial and body hair or hirsutism, and irregular menstrual cycle.
Testosterone is a male hormone but it easily interacts with aromatase enzyme and converts to estrogen or the female hormone. Estrogen is a disadvantage for athletes and bodybuilders since estrogen can stimulate the formation of gynecomastia or male boobs or the abnormal growth of the breasts tissues among males. Aside from the formation of breasts, this drug also increases the deposition of fluid and unwanted fats which can cause the formation of soft muscles and increased fat and cholesterol deposits on the walls of the blood vessels. These water deposits, however, serve as the lubrication of the bones and joints that prevents injury during workouts and strenuous physical activity.
This compound is available in injection forms, gels, patches, oral tablets and implants. The recommended dose of Testosterone is 500mg weekly but a minimum dose of 1mg is enough to produce some effects. Its oral form was the first to be released in the market but most prefer the injectable form, although both are effective for bulking purpose.
Testosterone is a regulated drug which is controlled by the Controlled Substance Act. Possession and use of this drug without the written prescription from a physician is punishable by the law. This drug is available on local pharmacies and gyms. But buying from these options is quite a hassle, most people buy from online shops since they are more convenient, safer and faster.
