About Aromasin:
Considered as one of the renowned and strongest drugs used for the treatment of breast cancer, Aromasin is a steroidial suicide aromatase inhibitor. Also known by the name of Exemestane, the drug decreases estrogen production of your body by simply blocking the aromatase enzyme, which is responsible for estrogen synthesis. It is an oral medicine that is available in round, biconvex and off-white to slightly gray tablets.
Traditionally developed for post-menopausal women with breast cancer and who require aggressive therapy, Aromasin is also prescribed those cases where the first line defenses, such as SERMS (Tamoxifen) fail to show any result.
Uses of Aromasin:
When it comes to positive results of Aromasin then its main role is in the treatment of certain forms of breast cancer, such as hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer, in post-menopausal women. Medically, the drug is used combining with other medications. Its other main positive use is that this aromatase inhibitor helps in preventing the reoccurence of cancer.
It is known that estrogen, female’s main hormone, is linked with the faster growth of certain breast cancers. Being an aromatase inhibitor, the drug lowers the level of estrogen in the body and helps in slowing down or reversing the growth of such breast cancers.

Aromasin Health Consequences:

The most important precaution that every user of this aromatase inhibitor should know is that never co-administered Aromasin with other estrogen-containing agents as it can hamper its pharmacologic action.
Aromasin Recommended Dosage:
For the treatment of early and advanced breast cancer, the general recommended Aromasin dosage is 25 mg tablet once daily after a meal. For postmenopausal women with early breast cancer and who have been treated with tamoxifen for 2–3 years, Aromasin dose should be continued in the absence of recurrence or contralateral breast cancer until completion of five years of adjuvant endocrine therapy.
In case of patients with advanced breast cancer, you can continue treatment with this specific drug until tumor progression is evident. If you are taking the drug with a strong CYP 3A4 inducer, such as phenytoin or rifampicin then your recommended dose is 50 mg once daily after a meal.
