Bowe suspended for violation of NFL steroid policy

Bowe suspended for violation of NFL steroid policy

A suspension of four games has been imposed on receiver Dwayne Bowe of the Chiefs after he was found violating the NFL policy in regard to anabolic steroids and related substances, as per recent reports.

The substance used by Bowe is still unknown and it is believed that he will not opt for internal appeals. The violation is believed to have happened in 2008 or before that.

From Profootballtalk.nbcsports.com:

The specific substance for which he tested positive isn’t known, and it’s possible that the violation occurred in 2008 or earlier. It’s also possible that Bowe didn’t test positive; some players have been suspended based on evidence of possession of banned substances.

He’ll miss games against the Steelers, Chargers, Broncos, and Bills.  He’ll then return for the final three games of the year, against the Browns, Bengals, and Broncos.

This incidence has again strengthened the fact that steroids and sport enjoy a relationship that is prospering despite tall claims from the government and anti-doping officials. The identification of Bowe for doping has allowed anti-doping officials to emerge clear winner over sportsmen cheating the game.
